The definitive 100 word guide on handling recession states-of-mind

Books take you on wondrous journeys. And my Book Corporate Communications led me to the insight-filled world of Aniisu Varghese, a Bangalore based Internal Communicator. Aniisu is hosting a workshop in Bangalore themed around Recession Proof Corporate Communication. I recently contributed to his blog Intraskope. And I am sharing those thoughts with you:

Over the years, I've found these ways of 'overcommunicating' beneficial to organizations facing turbulence:
 - Begin every day with leadership meetings that agree on the message for the day.
 - Devote 2 hours a day to stepping out into your workspaces and speaking to your Company's scared employees. Tell them what they need to know and tell them what they can tell everyone else. 
 - Create and sustain a daily communique with messages of hope and positive change from the leadership. It will be the Star by which you navigate your storm.  - Celebrate the small wins and big victories. 
 - Though it may sound counterintuitive, encourage your employees in time to step out into community initiatives that rebuild hope and establish your brand within your communities. 

Finally, remember your moments of resilience and share them in the story of your Company's life...for they will inspire the next generation!

The 1400 year old Secret of building your Corporate Brand

This is a truly incredible story. And I thought I should share this with you. 
And, the ways in which they are built to last, continue to fascinate me.
When it comes to corporate lore, one company has stood out for its incredible story on resilience.
Until its takeover recently, Kongo Gumi stood the test of time (centuries, actually).
I chanced upon its story a little after my book Corporate Communications: A 21st Century Primer was published in 2004. And, it still stands out as a compelling corporate story.
